Cullie Treichler
Even with classical training and helping students find their somatic foundation...
I felt limited... like a ballerina trying to do hip-hop...
but One Voice truly changed everything for me.
What people are saying…
“Cullie’s multi- sensory approach to teaching Body Mapping will help any musician sing/play with more ease and artistry. Her extensive knowledge and compassionate approach create a safe, inviting learning environment. ”
“It is hard to capture in words the impact of a true teacher. Cullie’s love of her craft, her love for her students, and the journey of the artist and their vocal expression are inspiring and infectious. As her student, I not only grew in my confidence and abilities as a singer, but in my awareness of my breath and very being. ”
“Cullie is a treasure! I could not ask for more in a voice teacher. She is compassionate, inspiring, and really listens to what you need rather than working out of her own agenda. I thought I would be terribly intimidated taking voice lessons from her as she is so talented herself, but she created a space for me to feel safe and encouraged. I have grown so much and am finding my own voice in the process. ”
“individual vocal lessons with Cullie helped me develop confidence in my singing. Cullie has such positive energy in her teaching style and encourages growth and improvement. I found I was able to sing a broader range of notes comfortably, as she teaches how to keep the voice and body natural and at ease. I also enjoyed singing various styles of music, from African music to beautiful folk styles to a jazz piece that was challenging but fun. ”
“I have found Cullie’s holistic approach, combined with technical expertise, to be very beneficial to my singing… I finally feel like I have the right teacher who helps me feel relaxed and happy while singing, and the technique follows naturally. Thank you, Cullie! ”
“Cullie has been an amazing teacher. She has helped me with things that I never knew about. My voice has improved so much in the last year. I enjoyed performing in the recitals she invited me to participate in.”
“In my first 15 years as a worship pastor, I struggled with feelings of inadequacy in my singing. Cullie has changed all of that. Not only do I feel confident in my singing ability, but I also sense an incredible amount of vocal freedom that allows me to fully express the worship I am feeling inside. This is what makes Cullie’s teaching so special – her passion and ability to help singers find greater vocal freedom so they can express their hearts to an audience in a deep and meaningful way.”
My Story
When I began singing lessons, my body was so constricted with performance anxiety that I couldn’t sing a 5-note scale in tune! Body Mapping taught me how my body is designed to move with ease & efficiency as an organized whole, and it became my somatic foundation on which to build solid vocal technique. I grew a ton in my classical training and was able to help my singing students find their somatic foundation and technical skills in singing classically. However, I didn't know how to sing contemporary music and felt like a ballerina trying to do hip-hop. I felt limited in how to facilitate my students who wanted to sing contemporary music. Then, I discovered One Voice, which demystified and liberated the glorious potential of the human voice and gave me the clarity and tools I needed to sing and teach a variety of musical genres with stylistic fluidity. Combined, Body Mapping and One Voice have facilitated my transformation as a singer and how I work with my clients!
